Maldives bans travellers from Pakistan, India

In connection with the severe third wave of Covid-19 in the region, the Maldives on Sunday imposed travel restrictions on seven South Asian countries including Pakistan and India, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Republic of Maldives’ Tourism Ministry on Sunday, May 09, 2021 issued a letter to all its tourist facilities under the subject of “Travel Restriction for South Asian Countries”.
In the letter, Maldives Ministry for Tourism halted any further check-ins of inbound tourists from South Asian Countries including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka to guesthouses, and hotels in Inhabited Islands.

The Maldives also temporarily suspended the entry of Work Permit Holders from above mentioned seven countries of South Asia.
According to the letter, the travel restrictions on all seven countries including Pakistan would continue until further notice issued from the government of Maldives.
