Varun Dhawan's selection of words to extend birthday greetings to his wife, Natasha Dalal, faces severe criticism from netizens.

Varun got married to his childhood ladylove, Natasha Dalal, in 2021. Fast forward to now, the duo is expecting their first child.

On May 8, 2024, the Bollywood hearthtob dropped a small clip on his Instagram handle, that featured him and his wife, Natasha Dalal, posing mushily with one another in a picturesque location, from one of their vacation. The couple twinned in cool sunglasses and smiled brightly for the camera. Along with the clip, Varun penned a sweet, one-liner birthday wish for his ladylove, who turned a year old today. He wrote:

“Happy birthday to my caretaker. Love you forever.”

Soon after, a screengrab of Varun Dhawan’s birthday wish for wife, Natasha Dalal made it to the discussion portal, Reddit, where several netizens began to mock the actor for his poor choice of words.

Well, a strong section of Redditors strongly objected to Varun calling Natasha his caretaker, and called him a man-child.

While one user penned, “I’m beginning to think he doesn’t know english that well or he’s just dumb idk”, another netizen commented, “Man is soo poor with his words.”

Varun Dhawan’s real-life love story with Natasha Dalal is not any different from a filmy tale that he often displays on the celluloid. The duo crossed paths in school, when they were only in the sixth standard. However, it was Varun, who fell in love with Natasha first, upon seeing her in the school’s basketball court during lunch break. Sadly, when Varun expressed his love for Natasha, the latter rejected him immediately.

Interestingly, Natasha Dalal rejected Varun’s proposal some 3-4 times before she admitted her true feelings. They remained good friends for a long time, before they began courting during their 20s. Despite being a filmmaker’s son, the actor managed to keep his relationship far away from the limelight, before getting married to Natasha in 2021.
