Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Member Provincial Assembly Kanwal Pervaiz Chaudhary Monday submitted a resolution In Punjab Assembly to condemn the closure of 24News HD TV channel.
The PML-N MPA’s resolution read that more than 70 days have been passed since the closure of the 24News channel.
The resolution said the freedom of the press was continuously under attack under the incumbent government, which is totally undemocratic.
The resolution said the closure of 24News may result in the unemployment of thousands of journalists.
The resolution said that the present era has been proving the worst era of economic murder of the journalism and media industry.
The resolution demanded Pemra to immediately end the unjustified ban on 24News and restore its transmission.
The resolution demanded that all hindrances in the way of a free press should be removed and calls for an end to the economic murder of the journalists.
