Five more people lost their lives due to dengue fever in Lahore and another 333 were infected during the last 24 hours (Monday), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
With the new cases reported, the total number of dengue cases in Lahore has now reached 13,145 this year.
Punjab Health Department’s anti-dengue squad inspected 53,598 indoor areas and 7,831 outdoor areas and discarded dengue larva from 618 places.
As many as 136 people were infected with dengue fever in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 45 in Islamabad Capital Territory urban and rural areas in the last 24 hours.
In Islamabad, 45 more people were infected with dengue virus fever include 18 from rural areas and 27 from the urban areas of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).
Islamabad District Health Officer (DHO) said that there were 4,167 dengue-infected people in the capital.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 136 new cases of dengue fever were reported in the province hospitals include 103 from Peshawar and seven from Swabi. The total number of dengue cases rose to 8,393.
In Karachi, 57 people were infected with dengue fever and no causality was reported in the time span of last month.
In Hyderabad, five patients were infected with dengue in the last 24 hours while four other patients were also recovered. Hyderabad Civil Hospital Focal Person Dr. Mushtaq said that 10 patients were undergoing treatment in the dengue ward.
