The 145th birth ceremony of the poet of the east, Dr Allama Iqbal, is being observed throughout the country with great enthusiasm, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
A ceremony for the change of guards was also organised at the mausoleum of Dr Allama Iqbal in Lahore in connection with his birth anniversary.
Pakistan Navy Station Commander Lahore Commodore Sajid Hussain was the chief guest. He placed floral wreath at the grave of Dr Allama Iqbal on behalf of the naval chief.
The squad of the Pakistan Rangers-Punjab retired from their duties, and a smart contingent of the Pakistan Navy took over the responsibilities as honorary guards.
