Planning Minister Ashan Iqbal has revealed that the government contacted the experienced politicians in Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf but due to Imran Khan’s stubbornness, the talks could not be move forward.
In a special conversation with 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday, Iqbal divulged that the government got in touch with the PTI veterans but talks could not move forward as they expressed their inability to convince Khan sahib.
Iqbal said that Imran wanted Army to support him and install him on the chair of prime minister. Imran is not willing to accept anything else except the premiership, he added.
He revealed that in the past the experienced politicians in the PTI always wanted to sort things with the government, but they had got this big problem ‘who will bell Imran’.
The minister said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had gone to London to hold discussions with PML-N supremo on important national matters.
On governor’s rule, Iqbal said that it was an extreme step but the constitution allows federation to take such step to keep the system running. “We hope that both provincial governments (of KP and Punjab) will not let things go this far,” he added.
On Army Chief’s appointment, he said the appointment would be made on time and it would be as per the law and constitution.
