Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday inaugurated the ‘Sikh Yatra booking portal’, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Under the facility, Sikhs will be able to get hotels booked online.
They will also be able to choose cars for travelling.
Apart from that, members of the community will have the facility to hire the services of law-enforcement agencies for their security during their visit to holy places, which will give them the status of very important persons (VIPs).
The chief minister said that the yatrees (devotees) coming to Pakistan now would not face any inconvenience. He ordered the provision of all basic facilities to them.
He said that a special police would be formed to escort Sikhs to their places of worship.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mambal Singh, member of Parbandak committee, thanked CM Naqvi for setting up the portal. “Sikh yatrees come to Pakistan four times in a year. Now after the introduction of the portal, they will avail different facilities,” he said, and added, “Members of the community can’t forget the love they receive here in Pakistan.”
And when, he went on to say, returned to their homes, they sang praises of the government as well as the people of Pakistan.
Provincial ministers and other concerned officials besides attended the ceremony.
