A delegation of lawyers led by President District Bar Bahawalnagar Chaudhry Muhammad Hussain Najaf Saturday called on Punjab’s Acting Governor Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and announced to join Pakistan Muslim League.

The delegation included Fazilat Niaz Mirza Advocate High Court, Ghulam Nabi Sapra President Haroonabad Bar, Saeed Sajjad Gujjar General Secretary High Court Haroonabad Bar and Muzammil Ahmed Vainse Advocate.

Welcoming the lawyers for joining the party, Ch Parvez Elahi said that the facilities provided to the lawyers’ community from free medicine to the bypass by him should be restored which were closed down by Shehbaz Sharif.

The lawyers’ community was deprived of medical facilities which is discrimination, he added.

Ch Parvez Elahi said that lawyers should continue to play their role in the rule of law in society.

“In my tenure, I made a system of patrolling posts to protect the lives and property of the people. If the PML-N had allowed the target of setting up patrolling posts to be achieved, our villages and urban areas would be safe from crime today. The former government spared no effort to shut down our welfare schemes. Our intentions are clear, so whenever we have the opportunity, we work for the welfare of the common man and the poor,” he said.

On this occasion, District Bar Bahawalnagar Ch Mahmood Hussain Najaf said that South Punjab was prosperous in Ch Parvez tenure and people are now remembering the work done by him in South Punjab.
