The Pakistani nation celebrated the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) with religious zeal and fervour on Sunday (today), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The day dawned with a 31-gun salute in the federal capital and a 21-gun salute in the provincial capitals.
Faithful have taken out rallies in almost all parts of the country, carrying banners and flags inscribed with slogans and mosque were lit up with colourful lights in love of Prophet (PBUH).
In most parts of the country, streets and bazaars have been decorated, and stalls have also been set up for distributing meals.
On the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi, political dignitaries of the country have felicitated the nation with emphasis on understanding the message of the Last Prophet (PBUN) and following it.
President felicitates nation, Islamic Ummah on birthday of Prophet (PBUH)
President Dr Arif Alvi felicitated the Pakistani nation and Islamic Ummah on the occasion of the blessed arrival of the ‘mercy for all the worlds’ and the last Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
In a message on the occasion of 12 Rabiul Awal, he said the arrival of the Prophet (PBUH) was good tidings for relieving the suffering of humanity.
Humanity had been awaiting the arrival of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) for a long time, he added.
“His prophethood made visible the difference between good and evil, the darkness of ignorance was removed, the customs of non-believers were abolished, the name of the lone Creator of the universe was magnified and hearts of the humanity shone with the purity of the oneness of Allah. The slaves who were crushed under the weight of oppression and cruelty received the blessing of freedom and the era of justice and equity was ushered in.”
The last Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) made humans free from the slavery of other humans and made them believe in prostrating and bowing before their real Creator and Lord. Those who were depriving each other of rights became protectors and trustees of their mutual rights, he pointed out.
The President said the Prophet (PBUH) turned his followers into believers who sacrificed their rights for the happiness of others. The rights of every section of society were determined. Every section of society became a helper for others and the Prophet (PBUH) said Muslim was the person from whose tongue and hand other Muslims were safe.
The President said, “If today we want peace, serenity, tranquility and well-being of others and if we want truth, honesty and progress then we have to adopt the life and high moral values of the society structured by our holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The holy life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is a guarantee for the whole of humanity and for welfare and success of the world.
He prayed to Allah Almighty to give everybody the capacity and courage to adopt the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) with entirety and wholeness as the success and triumph laid in following life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Arrival of Prophet (PBUH) blessing for suffering humanity: PM
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said humanity had been waiting for centuries for the arrival of our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) so that he could dismiss dark clouds of ignorance, oppression, cruelty, and exploitation.
In a message on the occasion of 12 Rabiul Awal, he said our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) arrived in the world on this blessed day.
“Allah sent our last Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as a blessing for the believers.”
The PM congratulated the nation on the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) who was sent as a blessing for the entire universe and humanity.
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was a guide, support and refuge for the oppressed, needy, orphans, widows, poor and slaves, he added.
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) gave dignity to the human civilization, brought knowledge, led by example and the humanity which was suffering from hate and animosity was given the gift of love and brotherhood, he noted.
The prime minister said the Prophet (PBUH) led humanity on the path to his Creator and his life was the embodiment of all the qualities of the preceding prophets and messengers of Allah.
He said the messenger of Allah through his teachings taught people about life, the oneness of Allah and equality of humanity.
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) stressed on piety and morality and disallowed every form of cruelty and injustice.
The result of the teachings of the Prophet (PBUH) was that the long-time bitter enemies became friends, cruelty against the poor and weak vanished, humanity learned about the value of knowledge, and people in society became large-hearted and compassionate and they learned how to live with dignity and freedom.
He said humanity could be relieved of all the pain and suffering by completely following the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
“Allah may give us the courage and strength to completely follow the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH),” he concluded.
Asif Zardari advises people to be thoughtful on Eid-e-Milad
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari has asked the people to be thoughtful on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
“Today we are celebrating the birth of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). While rejoicing, we should also reflect on how far we have fallen from his teachings, tolerance and understanding of one another,” he said.
“Beloved Prophet (PBUH) never preached violence in his name. After the recent violence we have witnessed in the name of our beloved Prophet (PBUH), we should reflect on this,” he pointed out.
“On this day, we also ask Allah Almighty to grant us collective consciousness so that we follow the message of love, tolerance and non-violence that Islam has given us,” he added.
“The teachings of Prophet (PBUH) gave us are the greatest teachings, and we need to follow them today more than ever before. May Allah Almighty give us awareness and guide us to fully follow the teachings of Islam and enlighten our hearts with the teachings of Islam.”
Humanity regained its lost values, morals with arrival of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH): Bilawal
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has felicitated the entire Muslim Ummah including the Pakistani nation on 12 Rabiul Awwal and said that humanity regained its lost high values and morals with the arrival of the Prophet (PBUH).
He said that today, if mankind fully follows the principles of coexistence, cooperation, and tolerance as told by the Prophet (PBUH), the world can end conflicts and tensions while paving way for peace and prosperity.

500-pound cake cutting ceremony
A 500-pound cake was prepared in Renala Khurd, Okara on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).
Fresh cream, almonds, pistachio, pineapple, chocolates and goodies were used to prepare the cake.
Hundreds of faithful participated in the cake cutting ceremony. “Like every year, a 500-pound cake has been cut this time too. Cutting the cake on the birthday of Prophet (PBUH) is no less than a blessing for us,” said the organisers.
Boat rally in Sukkur
In connection with the celebration of Eid Milad-ul-Nabi, Jamia Faizul Uloom, JUP and other parties organised a festival on boats in the River Indus in Sukkur.
A large number of people including children participated in the rally. The participants of the boat rally also visited the shrine of Sufi saint Hazrat Khawaja Khizr, which is located in the middle of the Indus River, and offered special prayers for the security, stability and prosperity of the country.
On the occasion of the boat rally, the atmosphere of the Indus River echoed with greetings and salutations and kept resounding with slogans.
Speaking on the occasion, Mufti Hamid Mehmood Faizi and others said: “We organise this rally and celebrate the birthday of Prophet (PBUH). We will continue celebrating Eid Milad-un-Nabi with the same enthusiasm every year until the Day of Judgment.”
5000-pound cake prepared in Sialkot
A 5,000-pound cake was prepared in suburban village Machhi Khokar, Sialkot, in connection with the Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) celebrations.
80kg of milk, 75 crates of eggs, 50kg of pineapple, 50kg of cherries, 20kg of chocolate, and 80kg of fruits had been used in the preparation of the cake.
The cake was prepared by 10 artisans in four days. Every year, residents of Machhi Khokar get thousands of pounds heavy cake prepared. People in large numbers come to see and eat the cake.
6000kg mango milkshake stall in Mandi Bahauddin
A 6,000kg mango milkshake stall was set up in Mandi Bahauddin for the participants of the main procession of Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
The mango milkshake was made with pure milk, sugar and Sindhri mango by a local trader.
Sindhri mangoes are stored in season for the milkshake. Families, children and adults all prepare mango shake together.
When the main procession reaches Saddr Bazaar, milk shake will be distributed to the participants.
Countrywide Celebrations
Lahore
The celebration of Eid Milad-ul-Nabi ﷺ continues to be celebrated with devotion and respect in the city. The main Milad procession is taken out from Railway Station in the afternoon which will pass through its traditional route via Branderth Road, Railway Road, Chowk Dalgran, Gowalmandi, Mayo Hospital, Anarkali, Lohari Gate, Bhaati Gate, and will culminate at Data Darbar.
Various traditional processions start from Delhi Gate are passing through Wazir Khan Mosque, Kashmiri Bazar, Paniwala Talab, langay Mandi, Tibbi Chowk , Bazare Hakeema, Bhatti Chowk and end at Data Darbar. Besides, many other processions were taken out in different parts of the city.
The citizens are busy offering langar to the devotees at the thousand different points on the occasion of Eid Milad-ul-Nabi (peace be upon him) in Lahore. A citizen Faisal Ali organized a Milad party for women at Yusuf Road, Abdali Chowk, Islampura. A procession was taken out from the Township.
Special foods are prepared inside Akbari Gate, Lahori Gate, Mori Gate, Rang Mahal, and Mochi Gate Lahore for the lovers of Rasool PBUH.
|A 100-pound cake was cut in Manawan, a large number of lovers of Rasool participated. They were served with milk on the route of the main procession. Sables were installed and food was arranged.
A rally was held in Allama Iqbal Town Lahore to mark the occasion of Eid Milad-ul-Nabi (peace be upon him).
The participants of the rally that started from Noor Al-Hadi Nizam block in connection with the celebration of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (peace be upon him) continued to offer greetings and salutations to Muhammad SW.
Islamabad
In Islamabad's Sector G Seven, the devotees arranged breakfast for the participants of the procession. Thousands of lovers of the Prophet SW were included in the Miladul-Nabi procession, who passed through their designated routes and recited Salaam loudly.
Gujranwala
Likewise, various replicas of Islamic holy objects in Gujranwala in connection with the celebration of Eid Milad-ul-Nabi have become the center of attention of the citizens
Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
On the auspicious occasion of the birthday of the benefactor of humanity, the beloved of God, the Lord of the worlds, Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH) Milad-un-Nabi (peace be upon him) is being celebrated with devotion and respect throughout Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Mirpur
In Mirpur, the main procession started from the main Jamia Masjid Mufti Abdul Hakeem to Chowk Shaheedan in which a large number of devotees participated with religious fervor and utmost devotion and respect. A number of people from Bhimber also participated in the procession.
Muzaffarabad
In Muzaffarabad, Milad Mustafa ﷺ rallies, processions and biographical conferences and ceremonies are being organized.
After the Fajr prayer, the morning started with special prayers in the mosques for the freedom of Occupied Kashmir and the development and prosperity of the country. A collective prayer was offered for the celebration of Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ in the capital. Former Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan, Minister Khawaja Farooq Ahmed, President Sirat Committee Atiq Ahmed Kayani and others took part in the procession. The procession was welcomed in every place.
In the Poonch division, the arrival of the Prophet is being celebrated with full religious enthusiasm and processions and rallies are being taken out in cities, towns and other places.
Sialkot
Cakes weighing several pounds were cut in Sialkot. A large number of devotees attended the cake-cut ceremony.
Mandi Bahauddin
A sabeel of 6,000 kg mango milkshake was installed in Mandi Bahauddin for the devotees.
Multan
An 8,000 kg halwa was distributed among the masses in Multan on the auspicious occasion.
The processions and rallies continue in the city of Multan to celebrate Eid Milad-ul-Nabi, the streets and markets of the market round plot decorated like brides in Mumtazabad becomes the center of attention.
Dera Ghazi Khan
The main procession of 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal was taken out from Jamia Masjid, Block 3 which was led by Chairman Milad Committee Sahibzada Anwar Hasan Qureshi. The procession ended at Pakistani Chowk.
Renala Khurd
A 500-pound cake was cut on the occasion of Eid Milad-ul-Nabi. Cream, almond, pistachio, chocolate and other things were used in the preparation of the cake.
Faisalabad
A special breakfast has been organized for the lovers of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) at Ghous-ul-Azam Jamia Masjid Thandi Khoi.
Kot Addu of Muzaffargarh
In Madrasah Shamsul Uloom, one hundred degs of different food were prepared for langar.
