Screening of myopia (near sightedness) of children in connection with the weekly screening camp in connection of the World Sight Day has diagnosed vision disorders in 20% of the children in Lahore’s school.
College of Ophthalmology and Allied Vision Sciences Mayo Hospital Lahore organized a camp for the children of the primary section of Government Central Model School Lower Mall Lahore in which experts diagnosed vision disorders in 20% of the children of the school.
Among the various types of vision disorders, myopia (near sightedness) was the most common, which was 61.7% of total vision disorders. Hypermetropia was found in 14% of children while 24.3% of children were diagnosed with astigmatism.
Principal Syeda Nuzhat Shabbir while appreciating the basic diagnosis of vision, awareness and training about the causes and prevention of myopia to all the teachers of the primary section, expressed his determination that the teachers should play their role in the treatment of blindness in the society along with the ophthalmologists. will be able to.
