Pakistan records 426 new coronavirus cases with nine deaths

Pakistan reported only 426 new cases Wednesday in the past 24 hours (Tuesday), the latest data from the National Command and Control (NCOC) shows.
According to the figures, 426 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours after conducting 22830 tests. It takes the total cases tally to 299659 that returned positive after conducting 2825040 total tests so far.
The number of active cases in the country is also reducing sharply as the total active case remained 6,794 and with 349 more recoveries in the last 24 hours, the number of total recovered cases reached 286,506 with 95.6% recovery rate.
However, there were nine more causalities related to the deadly disease as death toll due to coronavirus has reached 6,794 that represents a ratio of 2.1%. According to government figures, the number of critical patients has been reduced to 544.
There was a minor surge visible in new coronavirus infections in the most populous province of the country Punjab in previous few days, which has recorded 83 new cases during the last 24 hours, taking the provincial tally to 97,389 with 1575 active cases. The province reported two new deaths as death toll stands at 2,213. With 12 new recoveries, 32,601 patients have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far.
The most affected province Sindh has recorded 162 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 130,969 with 2104 active cases. The province also recorded five new deaths, taking the death toll to 2,430. With 167 new recoveries, 126,435 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 48 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 36,711 with 981 active cases. The province reported no new death as death toll remains 1,256. With 46 new recoveries, 34,474 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Balochistan has recorded another 81 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 13,402 with 1359 active cases. However, the province did not report any virus-related death as the death toll remains at 145. With 46 new recoveries, 11,907 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Islamabad has recorded 18 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 15,780 with 390 active cases. No new death was reported in the Federal Capital as virus death toll remains at 177. With 29 new recoveries, the number of recovered patients reached at 15,213 in the federal capital so far.
Azad Jammu and Kashmir has recorded seven new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 2,340 with 85 active cases. With no new death, the death toll remains at 65. There were 12 new recoveries in the AJK as 2190 patients have recovered so far from the virus.
Gilgit Baltistan has recorded 27 new cases during the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 3068 with 309 active cases. With two new deaths reported, the death toll remains at 73. 37 more patient recovered from the deadly disease as 2,686 patients have recovered from the virus so far.
