Pakistan has recorded another 84 deaths and 4,062 infections by coronavirus during the last 24 hours (Wednesday), showed the statistics released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Thursday morning.
As per the NCOC figures, after the addition of 84 new deaths, the overall toll has now surged to 26,497 whereas the number of total infections now stood at 1,194,198 after adding the fresh 4,062 cases.
During the last 24 hours (Wednesday), a total of 63,161 tests were conducted throughout Pakistan whereas the positivity ratio stood at 6.43 percent.
During the last 24 hours (Wednesday), as many as 4,136 patients have recovered from the virus whereas the total recoveries stood at 1,076,112. As of Tuesday, the total count of active cases in the country was recorded at 91,589.
As many as 441,410 coronavirus cases have so far been confirmed in Sindh, 408,758 in Punjab, 166,564 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 101,840 in Islamabad, 32,480 in Balochistan, 33,037 in Azad Kashmir and 10,109 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Moreover, 12,135 individuals have lost their lives to the pandemic in Punjab so far, 7,073 in Sindh, 5,175 in KP, 879 in Islamabad, 714 in Azad Kashmir, 342 in Balochistan and 179 in Gilgit Baltistan.

Based on latest reports, the countries with the most new deaths were the US with 1,081, followed by Mexico with 1,071 and Russia with 797.
