5 more die due to floods as toll reaches 1396

The devastating monsoon rains and floods claimed five more lives during the last 24 hours as the death and toll due to the disaster reached 1396, reported 24 News HD TV Channel Friday
According to the latest stats issued by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) flood claimed the life of one person in Sindh and four in Balochistan when six children got injured.
NDMA in its latest report said that around 1396 people have died all over the country with Sindh bearing the biggest loss of 578, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 293, Balochistan 267 and Punjab 191. The death toll in Kashmir was 44 and in Gilgit Baltistan 22.
According to the report, a total of 617 men, 280 women, and 499 children lost their lives till date. The total number of injured victims has reached 12728 around the country as 8321 injuries were recorded in Sindh, 3858 in Punjab, 357 in KP and 166 in Balochistan.
The recent rains and floods have destroyed 6674.7 kilometres of roads across the country.
As many as 568817 houses were completely destroyed and 1174528 houses were partially damaged.
All over Pakistan, 81 districts in total are still under the effect of the flood and rainfalls.
