The literary world is abuzz with anticipation as "Aks-e-Mufti," a captivating new book on the life of Uxi Mufti, the visionary founder of the Lok Virsa Heritage Museum Islamabad, is set to be unveiled, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


 The launch will take place in Lahore on September 15, promising an exciting event for culture enthusiasts and scholars alike.


The chief guest of the striking event will be renowned TV artist Firdous Jamal whereas drama writer Dr Attaullah Aali, Prof. Dr Ravish Nadim, and Dr Snober Altaf will grace the event.


The book launching ceremony will be organized by Mumtaz Muftee Literary Trust.


Written by senior journalist Dr Sohail Taj and published by Fiction House, the book offers an in-depth look at the life of Uxi Mufti, the celebrated founder of the Lok Virsa Heritage Museum and a well-known Pakistani folklorist.


Spanning around 200 pages, “Aks-e-Mufti” explores Uxi Mufti’s life and his interactions with notable figures like Qudrat Ullah Shahab, Bano Qudsia, and his father, Mumtaz Mufti.


 The book begins with a discussion of religious themes, from Allah to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and then shifts to the varied experiences of Uxi Mufti, showcasing his personal and professional journey. It details the history of the Mufti family, highlighting the challenges and successes Uxi Mufti faced while being raised by his single parent, Mumtaz Mufti.


It provides a vibrant account of historical events, including the Indo-Pak partition, the early days of Radio Pakistan, and the popular PTV show “Lok Tamasha,” which introduced folk artists such as Allan Faqeer and Pathany Khan. In addition to its historical and cultural insights, “Aks-e-Mufti” highlights the importance of culture and folklore. It explores regional music, instruments and traditional styles, offering a glimpse into the area’s rich heritage.


Dr Sohail Taj told APP that the book is a valuable source for researchers, students, and readers, who are interested in the life of a man who has received the Pride of Performance Award, Sitara-e-Imtiaz, and several international honours.


The author’s work involved reviewing recordings, lectures, and interviews, resulting in a well-organized book that deeply explains Mufti’s life and achievements.


Dr Sohail elaborated on the mysterious aspects of Qudrat Ullah Shahab’s biography titled “Shahab Nama,” particularly the final chapter, “Chota Muh Bari Baat.” Moreover, he assured in his book that “Aks-e-Mufti” answers literature lovers' questions, making it a must-read for anyone interested in religion, mysticism, and cultural heritage.


“Aks-e-Mufti” is a valuable addition to South Asian culture and literature, offering readers a rich and detailed look at one of the region’s most influential and cultural figures.
