Allies' talks to Fazl remain inconclusive, another round tomorrow

A delegation of allied parties met JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Thursday, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported.

The delegation consisted of Rana Sanaullah, Ahsan Iqbal, Ayaz Sadiq, Saad Rafiq, Yousuf Raza Gilani, Sadiq Sanjrani, Khalid Magsi, Abdul Aleem Khan, Salik Hussain.

Sources said the delegates met Fazl to convince him to partake in the election for PM, NA speaker and president and support their joint candidates.

JUI's Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidari, Haji Ghulam Ali, Aslam Ghori, Noor Alam Khan, Maulana Amanullah were also present

After the meeting, Rana Sanaullah said: “ The Maulana is our leader and we are taking guidelines from him and will continue to do so. We will come again tomorrow evening."

They added: “The things pointed out by Maulana Fazlur Rehman are valid. We will take up the matter without leadership.”

The leaders of coalition parties also held a meeting with the JUI chief yesterday but to no avail.

They cited Fazl as saying: “We will not be part of any voting process.”

Talking to the media after the meeting, Ayaz Sadiq said: “We are democratic people and we respect Maulana Fazlur Rehman."

He added: "Fazl has reservations which have been discussed. Our leaders will meet Fazlur Rehman in the House tomorrow.”
