The tribal elders and local notables have played a pivotal part in securing the release of Lt-Col Khalid Ameer and his three relatives, ISPR said on Saturday.
“Safe and unconditional release of Lt-Col Khalid Ameer and three of his other relatives has been secured due to the role played by tribal elders and local notables,” the military media wing said, adding that the abductees have safely returned home.
Reportedly, Lt-Col Khalid was on a visit to his ancestral village in the Kulachi area of the Dera Ismail Khan district for the funeral of his father, when he was abducted along with three other relatives on Wednesday.
