At a time when the government is endeavouring to facilitate businessmen, plaza owners are unwilling to waive rents of the shops shut to stem coronavirus spread across the country.
Pakistan Industry and Trade Front Chairman Mian Noman Kabir, Vice Chairman Javed Iqbal and Nasir Hameed called upon the government to play its part to get the issue resolved.
Nauman Kabir said the government should take action against people who just go for profiteering even in times of calamity.
The government is giving relief through reduction in interest rate, concession, rebates, subsidies, suspension of taxes, extension in date of filing tax returns, etc.
Kabir termed PM Imran Khan’s announcement of relief package historic, saying the move will help improve the economic situation. People dealing with small businesses are at the receiving end, he said.
