‘Estranged’ Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Khan Tareen said on Saturday that draft of the First Information Report (FIR) registered against him was prepared in Islamabad and then sent to Lahore in USB where it was signed, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Talking to the media after appearing at Lahore’s session court, he accused the investigation team of being biased towards him. “Do conduct an investigation. But for God sake, the team should consist of those people who are not controversial,” he appealed.

He again made it clear that PTI was his party, and that he was only demanding that justice be done to him in his cases. “Where else can I go other than PTI?” he asked.

He dispelled the impression that he wanted to evade accountability, and said he would appear in the court whenever summoned.

Tareen, on the occasion, also thanked the PTI workers and leaders who accompanied him to the court to express their solidarity. “I daily receive thousands of calls from the party workers,” he claimed.

It is pertinent to mention here that the PTI leader again demonstrated his political muscles at the time of his appearance in the court on Saturday as 22 Members of Punjab Assembly (MPAs) and eight Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) escorted him to the court.

A large number of PTI workers who were gathered on the occasion shouted slogans in Tareen’s favour and also showered rose petals on him.

Meanwhile, a banking court in Lahore, on Saturday, extended the bail granted to PTI leader Jahangir Khan Tareen in a money laundering case till April 17.

Similarly, in another money laundering case, the session court extended the interim bail granted to Tareen till April 22.

Raja Riaz, PTI MNA, on Saturday while reiterating his and other party leaders’ support for estranged party leader Jahangir Khan Tareen said that Prime Minister Imran Khan should look into it as to who was targeting him. “We are not blackmailing PM Imran,” he clarified.

He made it clear that he, Tareen and others were sincere to the party. “We want to see a strong PTI government. Khan Sahib, please do not be angry with us. Take decisions with a cool mind. Please assign inquiries to men of credibility so that truth could be sifted from falsehood,” he concluded.
