The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sunday objected to the nomination of Shehbaz Sharif for Prime Minister slot which triggered a verbal clash between the leaders of the two parties, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The objection was raised by PTI leader Babar Awan during scrutiny of the nomination papers by acting National Assembly Speaker Qasim Suri.
According to Babar Awan, there were a number of cases pending against Shehbaz Sharif in courts so his nomination papers must be rejected.
Meanwhile, a delegation of the united opposition also reached the office of the acting National Assembly speaker where the nomination papers were being scrutinised.
The raising of objection led to a heated exchange of words between both the sides.
It is to be noted here that Shehbaz Sharif is the joint candidate of the united opposition for the pot of prime minister.
