Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Sunday confirmed that his party will extend its support to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif, in an attempt to make him a Prime Minister, reporter 24NewsHD TV channel.
Interviewing to British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Chairman PPP said that the purpose of his party behind leading from the front to bring the no-confidence motion was not only to make Shehbaz Sharif, the next Prime Minister, adding that the party agenda is to bring electoral reforms and leading the country to more democratic paths.
Bilawal added that the reason behind bringing the no-confidence motion against Imran Khan was to cover the loss, which was suffered by the country’s constitution, democratic system, human rights, freedom of media, and economic rights in the last three years.
Bilawal said that the country had to bear the load of the government for more than three years that came to the power with the help of rigged elections.
Answering the question of becoming the next Foreign Minister, Bilawal denied such news and said that he could not confirm this news.
Bilawal said that “I am the believer in democracy, democracy, and even more democracy”.
Bilawal lashed out at the former government and said that in the last three years, the basic structure of the constitution went on to become weaker, adding that by not only snatching the political freedom but freedom from every Pakistani.
Bilawal said that this is the PPP’s belief that unless there is no political and democratic freedom, one could not bring prosperity, and fight for the people’s economic rights.
Bilawal added that bringing the no-confidence motion was the first step in correcting past mistakes, adding that there is still a long way to go.
