A dacoit was killed in an encounter with Dolphin Force at Shahdara Chowk here on Sunday, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
Reportedly, a Dolphins team flagged down two suspicious motorcyclists during snap-checking at Shahdara Chowk.
Instead of surrendering to the police for routine checking, the motorcyclists started firing indiscriminately at the dolphin’s team and fled the scene.
According to the Dolphins spokesperson, the team continued to chase the bandits. As a result of the exchange of firing, the bandit identified as Hamza was injured. He was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical aid but he succumbed to his injuries. His body was shifted to a mortuary for autopsy.
The accused was wanted by the police in various cases including murder, attempt of murder, robbery, and burglary, the spokesperson added.
The accused was the leader of the Topi gang. Further investigation into the incident was underway.
