The federal government has decided to provide fullproof security to the New Zealand cricket team during its visit to Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

The Federal Cabinet has approved the deployment of Army and Rangers for the security of Kiwis.

The approval was sought through the circulation of the summary from the Federal Cabinet.

Earlier, Punjab, Sindh governments, and Islamabad administration had requested federal government for the deployment of security to guard the team who once cancelled its tour to Pakistan citing security reasons.

According to the board officials, the New Zealand cricket team is scheduled to tour Pakistan from April 11 to May 8.

The Kiwis will play five ODIs and five T20 matches in Pakistan.

The matches between Pakistan and New Zealand will be played in Lahore, Rawalpindi and Karachi.
