The Lahore High Court on Monday reserved its judgement on the maintainability of a petition seeking to remove Imran Khan from the post of PTI chairman, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
LHC judge Justice Anwar Hussain heard the petition filed by Muhammad Afaq Advocate along with the objection raised by the registrar’s office earlier.
The registrar office objected to the maintainability of the petition, saying that a similar petition was already rejected after it was withdrawn by the petitioner.
It further objected that the petitioner amended the withdrawn petition and resubmitted it to the court. It said that a similar petition could not be filed in the court again.
The judge asked the lawyer that how he could resubmit the petition without first consulting the concerned forum after he had withdrawn it earlier.
Justice Hussain asked the petitioner to quit the PTI if he didn’t like the party.
The lawyer said that Justice Abid Hussain Chattha was also hearing a similar petition.
According to the petitioner, the Election Commission of Pakistan disqualified Imran Khan from NA 95 Mianwali seat on October 21, 2022.
He said that a disqualified person could not be the chairman of a political party. He requested the court to remove Imran from the post of PTI chairmanship.
