Consumers across the country should get ready for a hike in gas prices as gas companies have filed applications with the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) for an increase in prices for the next financial year (FY), 2025-26, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
In its application, the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) has requested the OGRA to fix the average price of gas at Rs2485.72 per MMBTU so that it could meet the shortfall of over Rs207 billion.

The Sui Southern Gas Company, on the other hand, has requested the OGRA to fix the average gas price at Rs4137.49 per MMBTU so that it could meet the shortfall of over Rs44 billion.
