The National Assembly was informed on Thursday that a fine of Rs5,000 has been imposed on individuals caught performing one-wheeling in Islamabad, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Thursday.

During the session, the House learnt that Islamabad Traffic Police issued 369 challans this year, imposing over Rs1.5 million in fines on violators.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior also submitted detailed statistics on online fraud to the National Assembly. According to the ministry’s report, the FIA Cyber Crime Wing registered 13,722 inquiries in the year 2024, leading to the registration of 832 FIRs against individuals involved in online scams.

The crackdown resulted in the arrest of 1,212 suspects, while final verdicts were delivered in 17 cases. Notably, over Rs650 million were recovered from those involved in cyber fraud.

During the same session, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) submitted a resolution in the National Assembly against canal construction over the Indus River.

The resolution was filed at the Speaker’s Office by Parliamentary Leaders Zartaj Gul, Ali Muhammad Khan, and Ahmad Chattha.

Speaking to the House, Ali Muhammad Khan stated that he joined Zartaj Gul in submitting the resolution on Sindh’s water crisis, stressing that PTI is representing the Sindhi people on this issue, and called for an immediate discussion.

Zartaj Gul added that a resolution on water, originally drafted by Omar Ayub, had been submitted by her and should be included in Friday’s agenda.

She emphasised that the water crisis has persisted since 2005 and warned that if any future conflict were to erupt, "God forbid, it could be over water."
