Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) Monday said Neelum Jhelum Hydro Electric Project (NJHEP) has achieved a milestone as the project provided 10b electricity units to National Grid on Sunday night, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.
Wapda Spokesperson said Wapda has earned Rs120 billion with this achievement.
He said Neelum Jhelum Hydro Electric Project is producing more electricity per year against the original design due to effective operations by the Wapda.
“There are four production units of Neelum Jhelum Hydro Electric Project with a capacity of 969 MW,” the spokesperson said.
It is pertinent to note that NJHEP diverts Neelum river water through tunnels at Nauseri about 41 km upstream of Muzaffarabad and out falling in Jhelum River near Chatter Kalas in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, where the powerhouse is located.
