Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday appealed to the opposition parties to avoid holding public rallies amid the second wave of coronavirus pandemic that has also hit the global healthcare system and economies, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Prime Minister Imran Khan clarified that the government will have no effect by the Opposition rallies but it will pose risk to people’s lives. The premier said these rallies will spoil the already serious coronavirus situation throughout the country.
Countries with rich resources, like the United States and Europe, saw their healthcare systems collapse and there are fears that Pakistan can be hit hard also, he said.
Sharing the city-wise data and latest update on the anti-coronavirus equipment availability, the Prime Minister said 40 percent hospital beds were filled in Multan after opposition rally while Islamabad’s hospitals capacity to deal and treat coronavirus patients is now 50 percent.
“Over, on average, 40 percent of ventilators and oxygen beds are filled with coronavirus patients,” he added.
Lahore administrations warns of terror threats
Separately, police bigwigs and district administration met with Pakistan Democratic Movement leaders at DC office in which PML-N’s Rana Maqbool, former mayor (retd) Colonel Mubashir Javed and Samiullah Khan also attended.
The district administration warned of terrorist threat to the PDM leadership, saying rallies and meetings in the city are illegal and rallies got no security along with violation of corona SOPs.
