The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) in Balochistan has started preparing for the winter season as heavy machinery has been sent to high-risk areas on the instructions of the Balochistan Chief Minister and the Provincial Interior Minister.
According to DG PDMA, precautionary measures are being taken in view of weather conditions and snowfall.
He said Meteorological Department has forecast snowfall in some areas of Balochistan.
He said the vacations of the staff have been cancelled by imposing emergency in all the PDMA centres.
Relief materials were sent to Chaman, Harnai, Kalat, Qala Abdullah, Qala Saifullah, Loralai, Harnai, Mastung, Nushki, Pishin Ziarat, and Zhob.
The goods sent include 12,000 blankets, 7,200 grams of shawls, more than 42,000 packets of dates and other food items.
