PML-N Quaid and former three-time prime minister Nawaz Sharif has asked PTI Chairman Imran Khan and his former adviser Shahzad Akbar to apologise to the nation, reported 24newsHD TV channel.

Talking to reporters in London on Saturday, Nawaz Sharif said: “Imran Khan and Shahzad Akbar should be ashamed of themselves for what they have done to the country.”

He said Imran himself was a corrupt man and he kept levelling corruption charges against others. He vowed that cases against Imran and Shahzad Akbar would reach their logical conclusion.

Nawaz dared the former prime minister to name just one project which he had started and completed in his tenure.

He maintained that these were not only allegations against Imran ‘rather corruption has been proven in his case’. Imran committed corruption of Rs50 billion, he added.

The PML-N supremo said that the nation should see it and understand it.

He said that former accountability Czar Akbar Shahzad levelled false allegations against Shehbaz Sharif at the behest of Imran on which the British newspaper tendered its apology over the non-availability of proof in support of his corruption story against Shehbaz. He felt relieved that God has made Shehbaz and the Sharif family victorious in this case.

“Former government has brought false charges of money laundering, corruption, kickbacks and misuse of authority against Shehbaz. But the UK’s National Crime Agency gave a clean chit to Shehbaz after launching an inquiry into these allegations,” the PML-N supremo added.

He said after Daily Mail’s apology, Imran, his party leaders and Shahzad Akbar should hang their heads in shame. These people have sullied the fair name of the country abroad, he rued.

Nawaz said, “There is not a government of PML-N, PTI or of any other Pakistani political party in Britain. It’s an independent and democratic country. If this country and its newspaper are saying that Shehbaz is not guilty then what other proof of his innocence do we need.”

Taking a dig at Imran, the PML-N supremo said the PTI chief himself was soaked in corruption from head to toe. Even his Toshakhana theft is on the lips of every child, he added.

Nawaz said that he was disqualified on the silly charge of not taking a salary from his son. He went on to say, “We were implicated in frivolous cases for no reason. I was sent to exile for no reason. I was also involved in a case of plane hijacking. An elected prime minister was disqualified on the grounds that he did not take 10,000 riyal salary.”

The PML-N supremo said that it was his government which worked hard day and night to put Pakistan’s economy on the path of revitalization. “We improved means of communication and constructed motorways. Can Imran tell us about any project which he has accomplished in his tenure?” Nawaz asked.

He said that the PTI government only launched one Metro service project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but that, too, was faulty and billions had been spent on it.

Throwing light on the corruption cases against Imran, Nawaz revealed when the details of the Billion Trees Project and Al-Qadir University Project Trust would emerge, then the people would be astonished to know the level of corruption in these projects. He said that corruption to the tune of Rs50 billion was committed in these projects.
