The Sindh government has released 235 Afghan prisoners, who entered the country illegally, from Hyderabad’s Central Prison, Women Prison and Juvenile Prison, reported 24NewS HD TV channel on Tuesday.
As many as 169 men, 60 women and six children were among the freed Afghan prisoners who were then transported to Afghanistan in vehicles via Chaman border.
It merits here to mention that these Afghans were detained two months ago within the limits of four police stations, including Nooriabad, Loonikot, Kotri and Jamshoro, of Jamshoro district.
According to sources, the court had ordered to deport all the Afghans and hand them over to the Afghan authorities at the border of Afghanistan.
