An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi on Tuesday rejected the police’s plea, seeking physical remand of former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan in the General Headquarters (GHQ) attack and other May 9 violence-related cases and said that the interrogation of the former prime minister would be done in the Adiala Jail, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
PTI chairman attended the court hearing via a video link.
Earlier, Imran was arrested in the GHQ attack case.
Thousands of people had lost their temper and came out on streets after hearing the news of arrest of Imran Khan on May 9.
They vandalized government buildings and military installations besides damaging memorials of the martyrs of Pakistan Army to vent their anger at the PTI chairman’s arrest.
The government said that the rioters were the workers and supporters of PTI.
