At last good news for the people of the country, especially those living in smog-hit areas, as the much-awaited rains are now imminent, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The weather department on Wednesday forecast rains and snow over the hills for different parts of the country in the last week of January and February, including on the election day.

DG Met Office Sahibzad Khan also predicted that this year the winter season would not be over soon.  

He further said that if one observed the weather patterns during the ongoing month, he would notice that this year January was different from the preceding years.

He informed that 2023 was the hottest year ever.
