15 die after jeep plunges into Neelum River

As many as 15 people died and another two injured when their jeep plunged into a river in Neelum Valley of Azad Kashmir on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to Rescue 1122 personnel, the Toyota jeep with 22 passengers on board met the accident at Develian Lesuva Bypass on Neelum Valley road on way to Muzaffarabad when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it fell into River Neelum.

A woman was also injured when she was caught up in the accident while cutting grass along the riverbank, said Rescue 1122 personnel.

The operation to rescue the injured and retrieve the bodies was launched as local residnets and volunteer rescue teams arrived at the scene.

President condoles deaths in jeep accident

President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday expressed grief over the deaths after a jeep plunged into a river in Neelum Valley of Azad Kashmir.

The president prayed to Allah Almighty for peace for the departed souls, sympathised with the bereaved families and also prayed for strength to them to bear the loss.
