Always supports freedom of the press: Zardari speaks at Professor Waris Mir Memorial Seminar in Lahore

President Asif Zardari has said that agro-farming is the future of the country and the government should focus on farming instead of just increasing income tax, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


Addressing Professor Waris Mir Memorial Seminar in Lahore, Zardari said that the government will impose income tax on big landowners as it was the condition of IMF.


PPP leader said that in order to determine the direction of the country, besides finances, number of other steps were equally important.


Zardari claimed that he always supported the freedom of the press. He said, “today is the age of social media, everyone can have his say in front of the world”.


Zardari said there were trials to be faced in life. He said Benazir Bhutto Shaheed also faced trials in her life. He said people can highlight issues through social media but grouping was now seen in social media as well.


He said that the strong lobby of the world wanted to create a breach in the Muslim world.


Zardari also paid tribute to Fatima Jinnah for her services in the creation of Pakistan.


Zardari said, “I don't watch TV, I consider backbiting as good for me”. President also said that he always faced criticism with big heart and no one else was criticized ever as much as he was in the country.
