Former MQM leader Farooq Sattar has warned of sharp fall in revenues as he presented a shadow budget for the next financial year 2020-21.
Talking to journalists in Karachi on Wednesday, Farooq Sattar stated that in the coming financial year, the revenues would further fall therefore tax collection will go down drastically.
Moreover, Farooq Sattar added that it is important for the government to reduce expenditures and focus on better revenue collection. He also emphasized on the fact that the year requires a collective effort from all stakeholders especially the public who have to play a supporting role for overcoming the economic losses incurred due to the coronavirus pandemic and also follow the required precautions.
Highlighting the promises of the government, Farooq Sattar said that the government had announced waiving electricity bills but the bills have not been waived.
Farooq Sattar also added that even with limited resources a public budget can be given but Imran Khan's incompetence and mismanagement of his team has resulted in a huge economic misery. He stressed on the fact that all the policies made by the government have failed. This can be seen from the disagreements between the federal government and the Sindh government and it looks like a joke is going on and no one is serious to tackle the corona challenge.
