The opposition in the national assembly Thursday moved a no confidence motion against deputy speaker national assembly Qasim Suri, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The no confidence motion was submitted by Khurram Dastgeer and Javed Abbassi. The meber national assembly belonging to PML-N< MMA and PP have signed the motion.

The opposition parties earlier reached a consensus to bring a no confidence motion against Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser. Pakistan People’s Party leader Qadir Patel also confirmed the move. However later, the opposition parties decided to move the no confidence motion against deputy speaker Qasim Suri.

The opposition is bringing the movement one day before the start of the budget session in the National Assembly, which could put the government in a fix.

The move came the day when the national assembly passed a number of bills amid the hue and cry of the opposition who felt that they were denied the right to discuss or read the bills.

The government is currently facing manifold challenges to keep its numbers intact as Jehangir Tareen-led estranged PTI group may put the government in an embarrassing situation.

Earlier during the senate elections, the opposition surprised the government by winning the seat of Yousaf Raza Gillani in the national assembly, which had forced Prime Minister Imran Khan to take a vote of confidence in the national assembly to show his majority and right to government.
