The federal government has proposed a fixed tax for small shopkeepers in the annual budget for the fiscal year 2022-23 moved in the National Assembly on Friday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the government has presented the Finance Bill in the House which proposed a fixed tax of Rs3,000 on the monthly electricity bill of a total amount of Rs30,000 of a shop.
In the finance bill, it is proposed Rs5,000 fixed tax on the electricity bill of Rs50,000 and Rs10,000 tax on the electricity bill of Rs100,000.
The Finance Bill also proposed an Rs50,000 monthly fixed tax on car dealers and sellers of expensive watches. It is also proposed that the fixed tax will be collected through the electricity distribution companies.
