The Counter-Terrorism Department has arrested nine dangerous terrorists in major intelligence-based operations in different areas of Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
According to the CTD spokesman, the operations were conducted in Multan, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal and Gujranwala.
He said that the terrorists belonged to various proscribed organizations.
The CTD recovered explosive material, detonators, bullets and cash from their possession, the spokesperson added.
The terrorists were identified as Atiq, Rasheed, Riaz, Sadiq, Shoaib, Raheeq, Zahid, Kashif, and Maqsood.
The CTD started interrogating these nine terrorists after registering cases against them.
The spokesperson revealed that the CTD arrested 56 suspects during 284 combing operations this week. He said that 13,949 people were interrogated in the combing operations.
He said that the CTD was working on the mission of ‘Safe Punjab’ and was determined to root out the scourge of terrorism from society.
