Man demanding Rs2.4m monthly salary appointed NTDC managing director

The federal cabinet on Tuesday approved appointment of Aizaz Ahmad as managing director of the National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC). 

A summary for appointment of the NTDC managing director was presented to the federal cabinet on Tuesday. The NTDC Board had proposed the name of Aizaz Ahmad for the office of the managing director with consensus. The federal cabinet approved his name for the post on the basis of a summary submitted by the Power Division. 

According to sources, Aizaz had demanded $15,000 per month salary for the post that means around Rs2.4 million in Pakistani currency. He also demanded that he should be given one extra salary on termination of his job. However, the NTDC Board had said the salary demanded by Aizaz was much higher than the market salary for this job. There was no information available immediately about the monthly salary that the cabinet approved for Aizaz on Tuesday. 

The federal cabinet was presented four names for the post: Aizaz, Mujahid Pervez Chattha, Muhammad Azeem Asif and Mujahid Islam Billa.
