A large number of protesters blocked the Indus Highway in Bannu on Wednesday over the killing of a medical college student by the police in Peshawar, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Two policemen were arrested on Tuesday in connection with the murder of student Mubashir Wazir, who was shot dead on Sunday night after cops opened fire on his car.
The protesters demanded that until terrorism charges are not added to the case registered against the policemen the Indus Highway will not be opened and the protest will go on.
The protesters said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has become a complete police state as extra-judicial killings on a daily basis have become the norm. The protesters also demanded the resignation of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa inspector general of police (IGP).
The protesters called for justice and demanded immediate action against the police officials who murdered Mubashir Wazir.
It may be recalled that Mubashir Wazir was a student of Peshawar Khyber Medical College and belonged to Domail Tehsil of Bannu district.
