153,900 masks, 4,900 safety kits seized at Lahore airport

Customs authorities Saturday claimed to have foiled a bid to smuggle facemasks and safety kits at the Lahore airport.
On the directives of Customs Collector Azmat Tahira, Assistant Collector Shafaat Mirza led the operation and recovered 153,900 facemasks and 4,900 safety kits from a consignment booked for the UK.
The accused booked the consignment of cloth. Azmat Tahira appreciated her team for finishing the task. She said the export of such stuff has been halted in the wake of coronavirus crisis. An FIR has been registered.
