Pakistan coronavirus cases cross 30,000 mark

There was no let-up in the number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan as the total number of people infected with the virus has climbed to 30,174 since the pandemic outbreak on Sunday noon.

Meanwhile, the number of active cases on Sunday morning stood at 20,803 as 8,023 patients have been fully recovered from the infection.

The figures released by National Command and Operation Centre show the death toll has reached 648.

Sindh has overtaken Punjab on the top of the list of the country’s administrative units when it comes to the confirmed coronavirus cases while least number of patients are found in Azad Kashmir.

The distribution of these cases is: Sindh 11,480, Punjab 11,093, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 4,509, Balochistan 1,935, Islamabad 641, Gilgit-Baltistan 430 and Azad Kashmir 86.

On the other hand, 13,341 people were tested for the virus during the past 24 hours after which the number of tests conducted since the coronavirus pandemic outbreak has reached 283,517.
