The Punjab government has issued a set of guidelines for coronavirus patients to self-quarantine at their homes, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
The Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department has issued the Home Isolation Guidelines for Corona Patients.
The guidelines have been prepared in the light of the recommendations of the Corona Expert Advisory Group and the Technical Working Group. In case of symptoms of corona, the Home Isolation Committee will decide on home isolation only after reviewing the patient's condition.
For home isolation of a corona patient, the house must have a separate room and washroom. However, more than one corona patient can be kept at one place. Rooms, porches and washrooms must be disinfected on a daily basis. Home-quarantined patients shall only be given cooked food in disposable containers.
The patient will inform his doctor about the condition of blood pressure and fever on a daily basis. And isolation can only be allowed to end when two corona tests results are negative.
Punjab Information Minister Fayaz-ul-Hasan Chohan said the Corona Self-Isolation Committees were set up at district and union council level to make the self-quarantine at home mechanism more effective.
The minister said people from health and other departments will be the members of these committees.
