Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood has declared that Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognised dispute on the United Nations Security Council agenda and the final settlement of the dispute lies in a UNSC resolution calling for a free and impartial plebiscite under UN auspices, reported 24NewsHD Monday.
Shah Mehmood said: “Nothing about Jammu and Kashmir can be India’s internal matter.”
In the recent three-day visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to Saudi Arab, the premier met His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, who welcomed the recent understanding reached between the military authorities of Pakistan and India regarding ceasefire at the Line of Control (LoC), which is based on a 2003 understanding between Pakistan and India.
As per the joint statement issued after the meeting of both dignitaries, “The two sides emphasized the importance of dialogue between Pakistan and India to resolve the outstanding issues between the two countries, especially Jammu and Kashmir dispute, to ensure peace and stability in the region.”
This February, DGMOs of both militaries made contact and agreed to adhere to the 2003 ceasefire agreement at the Line of Control (LOC).
