Awn Chaudhry, a key member of Jahangir Khan Tareen (JKT) group, an estranged faction within Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has been appointed as adviser to the prime minister on sports and tourism.

According to the news broadcasted by 24NewsHD TV channel, President Dr Arif Alvi has approved the appointment of Awn Chaudhry on the advice of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

A notification has also been issued in this regard.

According to the notification, Awn Chaudhry’s post will be equal to that of a federal minister.
