The Lahore High Court has stopped the Punjab government from distributing motorcycles among students, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Justice Shahid Karim on Friday remarked that motorcycles should not be distributed until a new policy is made.
The court further remarked that the government should promote electric buses as providing buses to schools and colleges will help in reducing traffic pressure.
In this regard, the court has asked for a detailed report from the Punjab government on May 13.
The court has also ordered action against those who extract sand from the river with heavy machinery.
