Rehana Imtiaz Dar, mother of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Usman Dar, has issued an open challenge to Federal Minister Khawaja Asif for a televised debate, aiming to reveal the alleged discrepancies in his NA-71 electoral victory, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During a press conference following her temporary detention by police, Rehana dismissed the recognition of Asif as a MNA, vowing to continue her protest against the narrative set forth on May 9, which she believes was orchestrated by the establishment.
Rehana Dar's confrontation with law enforcement occurred amidst a PTI rally in Sialkot, where she was detained en route to a prayer ceremony honoring the victims of the May 9 unrest.
Despite her claims of being apolitical, Rehana Dar felt compelled to engage in politics after her family was targeted by powerful circles.
She recounted the events of May 9, describing acts of vandalism at her residence and attributing the spread of animosity towards Asif.
The support from the women of Sialkot has been a cornerstone for Rehana Dar, who fondly remembers the silent retribution exacted upon Asif on February 8. This incident marks a significant chapter in the ongoing political discourse in Pakistan.
