The Jeddah Tower, known as Kingdom Tower, is set to surpass Dubai's Burj Khalifa as the world's tallest building, said a report citing Architectural Digest.

With a height exceeding 1km, the skyscraper will include corporate offices, residences, hotels, and the world's highest observatory.

A key design aspect is its three-petal footprint, which enhances aerodynamics and reduces wind load.

The tower will feature a dynamic lift capable of travelling at a speed of 10 meters per second.

Guinness World Records confirms that the Jeddah Tower, expected to exceed the Burj Khalifa by 1,000 meters (1 km; 3,281 ft), could redefine the skyline once completed.

The construction of the skyscraper began in 2013 but was put on hold in 2018 after Bakr bin Laden, the half-brother of Osama Bin Laden, and president of the contractor company, BinLaden Group, was arrested during the 2017–2019.  The Covid-19 pandemic resulted in further delays.

However, in September 2023, it was announced that the construction of the building resumed. The project estimated to cost $1.2 billion will be the centrepiece of a $20-billion mixed-use district called the Jeddah Economic City located on the coast of the Red Sea.
