The scenarios for both Pakistan and Afghanistan are now next to impossible to reach the semi-finals after New Zealand crushed Sri Lanka in their last outing.
Afghanistan need to win by at least 438 runs to surpass New Zealand on NRR.
Pakistan have to win by at least 287 runs or, assuming England are kept to 150, chase down the target in 3.4 overs.
All the three teams could end the tournament on 10 points each but a better run-rate for New Zealand means they are almost certain for a semi-final place against hosts India who are unbeatable in the event.
The second semi-final will see South Africa and Australia lock horns for shot at the ultimate prize – World Cup.
