The administrator of a religious school was shot dead in Karachi’s Shah Faisal Colony on Saturday.
Maulana Adil Khan of Jamia Farooqia was killed when unidentified motorcyclists fired shots at his car. He was taken to Liaquat National Hospital where he succumbed to his bullet wounds. A spokesperson for the hospital confirmed the death. Maulana Adil Khan’s drive was also killed in the shooting incident.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah took notice of the incident and directed the Sindh Police Inspector General (IG) to arrest the assailants. He said he wanted the police to arrest the culprits at the earliest. He said that some miscreants were trying to sabotage Karachi’s peace.
Prime Minister Imran Khan condemned the targeted killing of the religious scholar and said that Indian had been trying to stoke sectarianism in Pakistan.
